Patients STD Results End Up on Twitter
A women in the Grand Rapids-area says a company called Spectrum Health gave her results to a different women over the phone. She then went on to post that confidential information on Twitter and Instagram.
The women was able to get the STD results by providing the date of birth and name of the women. Paradise Bond says she knows the women that got her results.
What comes next is always unthinkable. She went onto popular sites Twitter.com and Instagram to share the results with the rest of the online community.
The company involved, Spectrum Health says they have looked into the incident and have changed the way they do business. They say they did not violate any HIPAA laws.
